Weston is a prosperous suburb situated in Broward County, Florida, USA. The city was founded in the year 1996. Most the community was formed by Arvida/JMB Realty. It is situated next to the western developmental boundary of Broward County. This most western city of Broward County has its entire west side adjoining the Everglades. As per the 2010 census, Weston had a population of 65,333. This city is a part of the Miami–Fort Lauderdale–Pompano Beach Metropolitan Statistical Area, which was housed by 5,564,635 denizens as per the 2010 census. An 8,000-year-old paleo-Indian and Tequesta Indian burial mound is also present in the city.


Weston was ranked 19th in America by Money Magazine in the year 2010. It was the 19th in the ‘’Biggest Earners” category with median family income reaching at $119,689. In the year 2006, it was ranked as the city having the highest job growth in Florida and 18th largest in the country. Business week ranked Weston as one of the “best affordable suburbs” in the US in the month of November 2006.

Time and again Weston ranks high yearly in the CNN Money Magazine's "Biggest Earners" category. In the year 2008, it was given position of the 73rd best place to live in America by ‘Money Magazine’. In the year 2012, Weston shifted up ten slots reaching the 63rd place to live in America. This made it once again top the list in the state of Florida.

As per 2010, 24,394 households were there in the city, of which 13.0% were vacant. In the year 2000, 16,576 households existed, from this 51.3% had children below the age of 18 residing with them, 71.0% were wedded couples staying together, 9.0% had female householder living without husband and 17.6% of them having no families. 13.8% of all the household consisted of individuals, 3.3% of them were having somebody living alone who was of the age 65 or more. 2.97 was the average household size whereas the average family size stood at 3.29.

In the year 2000, the populace of the city was spread with 32.4% being under the age of 18. 5.0% belonged to age group 18-24, 36.1% belonged to age group 25-44, 19.8% belonged to age group 45-64 and 6.7% were of 65 years or more. The median age was of 34 years. Against every 100 females there existed 94.1 males. For every 100 females below the age of 18 there were 90.2 males.

According to an estimate of 2010, the median income for a household was $93,553 and the median per capita income was $40,432. Males earned a median income of $63,135 against $38,119 earned by females. 2.3% of the populace was below the poverty line. As per 2000, 62.54% of the people spoke English as their first language. 31.40% of the residents spoke Spanish whereas 1.29% of the population spoke Portuguese. Other languages spoken in the city included French and Korean at 0.82% and 0.49% respectively. Chinese was spoken as the mother tongue by 0.47% of all residents.

As of 2000, Weston held highest number and second highest percentage of Venezuelans which was 4.1% of the residents of the city. The city had fourteenth highest percentage, of Colombian residents in US, which was 6.19% of the population of the city. The 75th highest percentage of Cubans comprised of 4.05% of the residents of the city. It also had 47th highest percentage of Peruvians in the US with 1.19% of the populace (tied with Orange, New Jersey.) Puerto Ricans born as U.S citizens comprised of 4.1% of the residents.
